Skevie Philippou obtained her first Bachelor’s Degree as a Dispensing Optician and is a licensed Dispensing Optician and Optometrist by the Optic Cyprus Council. She, also,completed the required training in audiology and audiometry and received herlicense as a School Audiometrist by the Department of Health Services of the State of California.
She obtained a second Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Disorders and a Master’s Degree with focus on alternative feeding methods in the spectrum of bioethics. She is a registered Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) in Cyprus and a Registered MBSImP and SOFFI Clinician.In addition, she completed the required training in evaluation and intervention of Pediatric and Adult Dysphagia and the required training in the therapeuticapproach of Neurological Disorders and Voice Disorders.
Her expertise centers on neurological, behavioral and sensory disorders (both children andadults) that affect feeding and swallowing. Her practice is concentrated in the Clinical and Laboratory Evaluation of Swallowing, the design and intervention of Dysphagia Therapy and the clinical evaluation, design and intervention of Neurological Disorders (aphasia, TBI, ALS, Syndromes etc) Therapy and Voice Disorders Therapy.
