
Stavri Mylona is a professionally registered dietitian both in UK and Cyprus. She graduated from the University of Surrey in UK with First Class Honours in 2013 and she stayed there after in UK for her working experience. She gained valuable clinical experience from renowned London hospitals in England for several years. Her initial specialisation was in surgery and gastroenterology, such ascolon cancers, Crohn’s, ulcerative colitis, and further down the line she’s been the head dietetic lead of the Intensive Care Unit at Royal Free Hospital.
Over thelast few years, she specialised in diabetes mellitus, both type 1 and 2, gestational, as well as type 3c, which comes as a consequence of somepancreatic cancers. Stavri is also a big advocate on healthy weight loss so that it becomes a new way of life, as well as nutritional advice for bariatric surgery and GLP-1 injections, such as Ozempic, Saxenda and Victoza.
Additionally, she has received special training and gained vast experience on insulin pumps and continuous glucose monitoring systems, such as freestyle Libre, DexCom and Glucomen Day CGM. She offers carbohydrate counting sessions to families and children, as well as assessing the insulin to carb ratios and correctionfactors for fast-acting insulin.
After 10years of clinical experience abroad, Stavri returned back to Cyprus where she’sbeen based at ScalaMed Clinic in Larnaca the last 2 years. She is also anexternal collaborator of PASYKAF (Pancyprian Association of Cancer Patients andFriends) where she offers residents visits and sessions in her office.
